Really friendly staff and super fast pick-up. They just asked if I already had insurance and didn’t try to hard-sell their own. I’d originally booked a VW T-Roc, but they first gave me an EV. I wasn’t happy with that, asked for a petrol car instead, and they immediately switched it to a Volvo XC60 that was basically brand new. Drove really comfortably. We returned the car after 10 pm; the desk told us they have staff there until 11 pm, and if no one’s around you can just drop the key in the box by their office door. Drop-off was smooth and hassle-free.
1. Very professional – they checked the car carefully at pickup and return, got everything done efficiently with no pointless chit-chat.
2. Staff at the counter were quite friendly. Service speed was “typical European” (so, not exactly fast). The deposit was on the high side, and they did try to offer their own insurance, but it wasn’t pushy. After the 70% discount it didn’t seem expensive, but I’d already bought coverage on QEEQ.
3. They upgraded me to a hybrid Ford Puma, which was awesome. Drove around for three full days and only had to refuel once. The lane-keeping assist was a nice bonus.
4. From what I could tell as an experienced driver, the roads were in good condition, but they were quite narrow and there weren’t many people around, so having insurance is definitely important.
Service at the rental company was decent, but the car itself wasn’t great. After just a few days it started showing warning lights, and swapping it for another car was a hassle.
I originally booked a Mercedes A-Class but they upgraded me to an X5 for free. The car was quite new and really nice to drive. The staff were great both at pickup and drop-off, and their English was excellent. Big thumbs up.
The car was in great condition, communication was quick and responsive, and they explained all the local driving habits and details really clearly. Definitely a thumbs-up from me.
First time renting with Hertz and it was a pretty good experience. The car was very new, less than 30,000 km on it and still had that new-car smell. They said there might be an early return fee but it didn’t seem to be charged in the end. Overall, nothing unpleasant at all.
