Car condition not great. Wasn't offered the car on the reservation (Camry). Instead, was offered a Chevy Malibu or Nissan Altima only, and told Malibu was larger and better.
We were supposed to get a saloon car but they didn't have one so we had to make do with large pick up truck.
We told them we wanted a car or even a SUV but they wouldn't entertain us.
The girl at Avis was very unhelpful. We managed to go to Avis office in Kissimmee the following evening and they exchanged the truck for a saloon car.
However the saloon car then became faulty with all electrics closing down. So no blinkers and nothing showing on dashboard. Very frightening. We had to go back again the next day and eventually got a small SUV. Terrible service from Avis at MCO.
“My Johannesburg Airport Adventure: Guides, Grifters, and International Calls”
About Enterprise:6.0/10
It's 2024. We have self-driving cars, we're exploring Mars, but my credit card can't handle a transaction in South Africa? Seriously? I'm starting to suspect the international banking system is powered by hamsters on tiny treadmills.
“Stressful at times, particularly driving with a car with leaky worn front tyres.”
About Budget:5.0/10
The car had 60000 km on the clock but the front tyres were very worn and badly under inflated on pick up. Too tired to make a fuss re tyre condition after 11 hour flight but asked staff to top up the air. I had to top up with air on both front tyres twice during the 2 week trip. The rep insisted that I typed in my personal information on my phone which was laborious after a long flight and it would have been much quicker if they did it on their website. On car return the rep pointed out a large dent in the driver's door. I had not seen the condition report at pick up as it was not referred to by the staff and attached to the back of the contract. I did take pictures before leaving so was able to prove that the dent was pre existing.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
Would be good if local knowledge of airport was better as the vehicle I selected was pick up in terminal but that is not an option at Liberia.
